Tamiya 1/48 P-38G

My wife thought this plane looked cool so it’s on the bench. She thought the P-38 was so unusual looking that it would make a nice add to my display case (I've only built 11 models or so).

It's also all that they say...super fit, clean plastic, crisp edges, zero flash, great cockpit detail. And strangely...the plastic feels great in your hands. You can feel each detail. You can feel the thinness. The weighted "balls" to balance it is a cool detail. Tamiya instructions are the best

So easy it’s criminal

Almost everything you see here is not glued (just taped up).

Weathing

Must be five shades of olive drab and other colors here as i start to weather…the goal is to “mess it up real good”

Mud Splatter

Using an old airbrush needle, I flicked various brown colors up to simulate dirt and mud on the underside bits.
